A native of Stockton, California, Clements was an All-League, All-region selection at Lincoln High School as a setter and outside hitter. She holds 10 varsity letters from Lincoln High, a 4A school, and is a lifetime member of the school’s prestigious Letterman’s Club. Playing for Stockton Volleyball Club and Delta Valley Volleyball Club, she was coached by John Dunning (Stanford University), Terry Liskevych (former USA National Women’s coach), and Mike Jones (formerly of Texas Tech).
She was a four-year scholarship varsity volleyball player at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, from 1989 through 1992, helping the Loggers to the 1992 NAIA national playoffs. After graduating from Puget Sound in 1993 with a bachelors degree in music education, Clements coached junior high, high school, and club volleyball in the Olympia and Seattle areas. In 1998, she led Decatur High School in Federal Way, WA to the state tournament semi-finals. She served as the defensive assistant coach at Pacific Lutheran University, in Tacoma, WA from 1996-1999.
After earning a masters degree in music education in 1998 and a Ph.D. in music education in June 2002, both from the University of Washington in Seattle, she took a full time faculty and coaching position at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA where she served as the Womens Varsity Volleyball head coach and Mens club coach. She joined the faculty of the Penn State School of Music in 2003.
She is married to Chaz Wall, her outdoor doubles partner, is the mother of a precocious 4-year-old named Charles, an active musician and an award-winning gardener.
